Fatty in colour! (Thanks to the Beano)

I’ve posted sketches of Fatty before, but at the beginning of the month I had the unique opportunity to draw him on a large scale – and in colour – having joined fellow Gollanczist, Mark Stay, and the very beautiful Kit Cox at the MCM Comic Con to sign books. We were set up at a long table where we consumed sarnies,…

Four Stars for Rig!

Most Excellent Four Star Review for “Rig” (final book in the Kenstibec trilogy) from the Sun newspaper this week: “This series has a wry sense of humour but it’s only when you flip the final page you realise you’ve read a wake-up call to a species unknowingly orchestrating its own destruction. Disturbing, illuminating, and highly entertaining.” This…

It’s publication day!

Rig, part 3 in the Kenstibec series, if officially out in ebook and trade paperback today from Gollancz. to celebrate there’s been all sorts afoot, including this beautiful GIF, worked up by a friend at work. I’ve also been blogging over at gingernutsofhorror.com about Trump, Superyachts and Science Fiction, plus answering a few questions on the Gollancz blog…

Steeple: 4 stars and heaps of blogs

Steeple received a 4 stars review from The Sun in April, I’m thrilled to say. The review said: “The action is tense, the violence gruesome but compelling and the science fiction engaging. In other words, it’s every bit as good as its predecessor.” Boom! Meanwhile in March I put together a whole heap of articles for…

Rig cover reveal

Delighted to reveal the cover for the final part in the Kenstibec trilogy, Rig, which comes out 16 June, following on from Barricade and Steeple. It completes a gorgeous design theme from the good people at Black Sheep and I’m pleased as punch to see it completed. Here it is in all it glory… Keep…

This pleases me

To celebrate Halloween this year H has carved me a Steeple pumpkin! Returned to the flat to find her putting the finishing touches to this superb example of veg engineering. Think you’ll agree the execution is of such perfection even Kenstibec would approve. I married well indeed.

Kenstibec’s Twitter Story Part 2

Very pleased to present part two in Kenstibec’s Twitter tale, which ran in 2013/14 in the run up to the publication of Barricade. I was going to run another Twitter story in the run up to the publication of Steeple, but this year I had a day job to take care of as well, which made it…

The curious carving and painting of London

My new novel, Steeple, sees Antihero Kenstibec tour the flooded, dying remains of a future London, seeking design inspiration for the colossal new tower he has been commissioned to build – the Hope Tower, a monstrous construct being erected to replace the old city. While writing the book, I began to take pictures on my strolls about London, and think…

Launching Steeple

All sorts of things have been occurring over the last couple of weeks to herald the launch of “Steeple”, the second novel in the Kenstibec series, which was published by Gollancz on 18 June. I thought I would take a moment on my lazy Sunday to round thing up here. TOURING: First off, there’s been something…

Steeple Interview on Tor.com

Really pleased that I had the opportunity to answer a few questions for Niall Alexander over at Tor.com for his very excellent British Fiction Focus blog. We talk all about my new book, Steeple, which comes out in June. He says some lovely stuff about Barricade – ” Pretty fucked up, but so fast, and such fun” –…
