Kenstibec’s Twitter Story Part 2

Very pleased to present part two in Kenstibec’s Twitter tale, which ran in 2013/14 in the run up to the publication of Barricade. I was going to run another Twitter story in the run up to the publication of Steeple, but this year I had a day job to take care of as well, which made it…

Launching Steeple

All sorts of things have been occurring over the last couple of weeks to herald the launch of “Steeple”, the second novel in the Kenstibec series, which was published by Gollancz on 18 June. I thought I would take a moment on my lazy Sunday to round thing up here. TOURING: First off, there’s been something…

Steeple Interview on Tor.com

Really pleased that I had the opportunity to answer a few questions for Niall Alexander over at Tor.com for his very excellent British Fiction Focus blog. We talk all about my new book, Steeple, which comes out in June. He says some lovely stuff about Barricade – ” Pretty fucked up, but so fast, and such fun” –…

Steeple signing!

So I’ll be popping up at Forbidden Planet in London on 25 June to do a signing of book two in the Kenstibec series, Steeple. It was great to launch Barricade there last year and I can’t think of a better spot to reveal Steeple to the world. My blurb for Steeple: Kenstibec was a…

Doodling Barricade

So I ran a little Barricade competition the other day, offering a few complimentary copies to the quick-on-the-draw of the Twitterati. Each giveaway featured a special doodle of main character, “Fatty”. Congratulations to Scott Tucker, Tracey Shephard, S.R. Manev, and Lydia Ondrusek, all of whom had specially doodled copies posted to them last week. It was…

Kenstibec’s Twitter Story: Part 1

Barricade is published in paperback today! To celebrate I thought I’d publish the first part of last year’s Kenstibec’s twitter story. @Kenstibec was tweeting for six months leading up to Barricade’s launch in June last year, dropping bulletins set in the months before the events of the book. It covers day to day life for the super-human…

Mini Barricades are in!

Thrilled to say that a treasure box arrived from Gollancz today, packed to bursting with mass market paperback editions of Barricade. As you can see it is a smaller, chubbier version of its taller, leaner ‘trade paperback’ relative but no less gorgeous for it. Plus it now comes stamped with a few nice reviews (many more available here)….

Steeple: proof week

Gollancz has sent through the proofs for Steeple, my second novel and the sequel to Barricade. It’s exciting to find the fat envelope arrive in the post tray, but it does make me wonder how other authors have their proofs delivered – I mean my books are short affairs (so far), yet this is quite…

Steeple cover reveal + other cover art

I’m delighted to reveal the cover for “Steeple”, the sequel to my debut novel “Barricade”. This cover, and that of Barricade, are the work of Lisa Brewster from Black Sheep. All hail her mighty skills! I admit that I started thinking about covers the moment I was signed to Gollancz. I remember my editor, Simon, bringing up the subject…

Barricade Blog Tour Blogs Blog

I thought I would post something about last year’s Barricade Blog Tour, when it was my great privilege to produce a number of articles for the good and the great of SFF bloggery. I think I most enjoyed writing those pieces which expanded the world of Barricade – adding a little more detail to Kenstibec’s…
